He earned his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Louisiana Tech University in 2009. Dr. Hooks earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 from St. Georges University in St. George, Grenada.
Primary areas of interest are small animal surgery (soft tissue and orthopedic), and equine lameness.
Dr. Meghan Hooks grew up in Houma, LA with her parents and four brothers. She attended Louisiana State University and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2008. She then moved to Grenada and completed three years of veterinary school at St. George’s University where she met her husband, Robbie. After completing her fourth and final clinical year at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, she and her husband moved to Lafayette where she worked for 2 years at a small animal clinic. In 2016, she and her husband purchased Beauregard Veterinary Clinic and moved to DeRidder, LA.
Drs. Meghan and Robbie have twin daughters, Julia and Emily, daughter Adeline, and son Hayden. We also have 3 dogs, 2 horses, and 1 cat. In their free time Drs. Meghan and Robbie enjoy cooking, fishing, hunting, and spending time with their family and pets in the great outdoors.
